Description

This module is the final project from the Learning Design and Technology course at the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Target Audience

The target audience for this training initiative consists of general education teachers teaching English or Mathematics in Apple High School.

Problem Identification

Apple High School received a highly increased number of immigrated Korean students in the year 2018 and 2019. As of February 2020, 20 percent of the school demographics are immigrated Korean students, and 95 percent of those are participating in English as Second Language program.

Based on the survey that was sent in February 2020, approximately 70 percent of general education teachers stated they are unsure of the accommodations and legal rights of the English language learners.

Instructional Goal

Teachers in Apple High School will increase their abilities to teach English Language Learners.
